Cocoa overnight oats - vegan friendly

Good Morning!

I've been experimenting with overnight oats and today, I'm enjoying a jar of cocoa flavoured ones. Here's my recipe if you'd like to try it for yourself!

Ingredients:

This takes less than 5 minutes to prepare, and will keep in the fridge for up to 5 days, so it's perfect if you like to prep your meals. The ingredients above are for 1 serving, just double or triple your recipe for extra portions.

Method:

  1. Add your oats, chia seeds, cocoa powder, milk, yoghurt and agave syrup into a mason jar and stir really well

  2. Tighten the lid and put in the fridge overnight, or if you're making during the day, they will take at least 3 hours to soften.

  3. Next morning, when they're ready to serve, I like to top them with a couple spoonfuls of yoghurt, a splash of agave syrup and a sprinkle of chocolate curls. Then enjoy!

I've made this recipe vegan, but you can alter the milk, yoghurt and cocoa to suit your tastes. And if you can't find agave syrup, use maple syrup instead. The only thing I wouldn't suggest altering is the oats, as the rolled oats are best because they soften well. Instant oats or steel cut oats don't have the rigt texture. Also, don't skip the chia seeds, they really improve the texture!

Leave me a comment if you try any of my recipes, and how you found it - Thanks!
